the next morning, we left early and headed up the One hwy....

stopped to check out the elephant seals and were greeted by tons of these little friends...

in the words of rachel chester: "Squirrels are just rats in cute outfits!"the elephant seals...a seminary student before coffee....aaah the fog.....I made it!!

Goodbye Vegas - we're outta here! ahh the desert...ya know, i don't recall ever seeing one of these in texas...I think this is my most favorite sign...So we were driving along....

(the desert will do that to you) when all of a sudden.... we saw this sign!! And after our last "ghost chase" we were quite hopeful..... in fact our reaction was much like this one..But sadly we only saw this guys.... it actually cost money to get in and it didn't look very authentic so we turned around and got back on the interstate....

What? its hard to find a tall man these days!!YAY for california!! we somehow missed the california line sign somewhere amongst the dust but we figured this was the equivalent... YAAAAAAAAAAAAAY we have never been so happy!

We were greeted by abigail - so adorable!and by Elizabeth and Jesse who were so gracious to let us crash on their couch!!
We went to dinner near their house and then crashed for the evening.
