Capstone woes no. 1

a visual -
Rain. me. a grande cup of starbucks coffee. 2 large bags of books and a purse.

obstacles:
no drinks are allowed in the library... and it opens at 10.

Yup. i was that kid standing in the rain outside of the library half an hour early drinking my coffee really quickly.

How Bizarre...

Today was a riveting yet insightful and oh so typical San Franciscan day....
besides the fact that i spent the morning working on Taxes...lame... (sorry Uncle Sam). Bekah, Christina and I decided to try this fantastic coffee shop on Filmore; it had the perfect ratio of study nook wooden tables coupled with GREAT coffee and free Wi-fi. Really, how CAN you go wrong?
Well except for the snobby parking meter which ONLY took shiny new quarters and gave you zero minutes for the over qualified older models of George Washington....
After the third fill-up on shiny coins, we ventured to chestnut and watched Christina try on her BEAUTIFUL wedding dress....sorry Jacob no pictures or descriptions for you! ******pictures to follow after wedding.
THEN We scuttled off to enjoy sandwiches at the Exploratorium with all the tourists, birds and runners only to leave Christina to be responsible and not skip work....also lame...(sorry to family she works for - just kidding!)
mostly.
So now.....A trying dilemma... brave the bridge or enjoy the city longer???
city.
Bizarre Cafe is located near 19th and California.
The sound of loud middle eastern music came as a shock as you entered the room, but it held several good study spots and a promising menu of caffeination.
(local tip: sneak out the side door that looks like you are heading down an alleyway but it opens up to a spacious garden with tables and chairs. Stunning. )
Unfortunately Toshi (my computer) has to suck electricity from every place it graces with its presence... but had we not gone back inside we may not have known why they call this place bizarre.....
A man seemingly still living in the seventies who traveled through time to learn an interesting new agey lingo greeted us and delivered on his promise of a tasty ice coffee. I shall call him Chester. He was soon accosted by an odd woman who announced something about a tuning....
Wrong Assumption #1: I was reading about how art therapy is obviously fantastic while I just assumed she wanted to tune an instrument.
Reality Check: she pulled out two silver instruments, struck them together and held each next to the poor man's ears.... she in fact was tuning his inner spirit.
(our spirits didn't need tuning apparently or our auras were so murky she may not have been able to spot us as we sat two feet away from them.)
Wrong Assumption #2: That she was the only bizarre person to enter this place.
Reality check: Nope. Soon after a bearded man, greeted Chester who was now "in tune" and let him know multiple times that he was here for Chester any time and that he could help him out whenever he needed. The bearded man also announced to the whole room that he'd been taken down to the psych ward..(but either he escaped or they let him go - perhaps temporarily???). He gave Chester a "double pat and i'm out" hug followed by many promises of "help" as he left the cafe.
Wrong Assumption #3: the odd woman was just odd...
Reality Check: nope slightly stalker-ish and probably has a crush on Chester.
Each time Chester had to leave their conversation to help a customer, she would pace from one room to another, or stand staring at him or would busy herself by rearranging all the toy animals on the ledge next to us.... (very inappropriately i might add....). She tried to impress him with her quotations on Nietsche about how our spirits are an extension of the dead or something.
Wrong Assumption #4: the bearded guy would not be back
Reality Check: He came back.... i can't repeat what he said. But he can still help Chester....

Many more bizarre happenings occurred but i want you to actually visit this place because its really fun and quirky... So i'll bring this saga to an end. In the words of our good buddy, Chester, "I hope you have a Powerful Day!!!"
